Wine Tasting Initiation
Tour on foot of the beautiful vineyards with explanations about the grape varieties, terroirs (land and soils). Then back to the chateau for an introduction to tasting techniques using three of our wines and a wine pairing lunch on the sun soaked terrace (depending upon the time of year) where you will see how our vintages match perfectly with local delicacies. Finally take a guided tour of the cellar to understand more about how our wines are made and aged.
Vineyard Discovery on Horseback
4 h tour of the vineyard on horseback with explanations about the grape varieties and terroirs (soil and land), in the heart of the stunning Minervois landscape. Relax on the sunny terrace for a wine pairing lunch where you will discover how our vintages match perfectly with local delicacies. Finally take a guided tour of the cellar to understand more about how our wines are made and aged. (minimum group of 5 people)
Create Your Own Wine
Initiation to tasting techniques (the different phases, vocabulary) followed by blending your own wine using samples from our different single varieties. Pairing lunch on the spacious terrace to learn how to harmoniously match different wines with different local specialities, creation of your own wine lable and bottling of your own unique wine. (1 bottle).
The History of Wine
Introduction to Gallo-Roman winemaking techniques, with a visit to Amphoralis, the Roman pottery museum and guided tour of the Chateau Cabezac winery. Introduction to tasting techniques using 3 of our wines, pairing lunch using wines made following the ancient methods and modern day techniques.
Vines and Olives
Visit l’Oulibo (the local olive co-operative) with visual presentation and tasting of a variety of olive based products. Introduction to wine tasting techniques back at Chateau Cabezac (different phases, vocabulary) with 3 of our wines. A lunch pairing wine with olive based gastronomic specialities followed by a guided tour of the cellar to understand more about winemaking and aging techniques.
Discovering the Truffle
Truffle hunting accompanied by a specialist truffle hunting dog, with tasting session of your finds at the "Maison de la Truffe' and a visit of their museum. Lunch pairing truffle based gastronomic dishes followed by a guided tour of our cellar to explain the different winemaking techniques and aging processes. (from 15 Juin to 15 September and 15 November to 15 March, minimum group of 5 people)
